KiDH Visits Paris and the Netherlands

PARIS – June, 2025 — As part of the “Improving Digitalization and Creativity Ecosystem in Kütahya” project, a delegation from the city of Çini carried out an international study visit to France and the Netherlands between 25–31 May 2025, strengthening global partnerships and enhancing the capacity of the Kütahya Innovation Design Hub (KİDH). The visit focused on exchanging best practices in ceramics, creative industries, and cultural infrastructure.

In Paris, the delegation visited the Sèvres National Manufactory and Museum of Ceramics, examining how heritage-based ceramic production can be integrated with museum practice, international exhibitions, and cultural branding. The visit also built on Kütahya’s earlier engagement with the city through the international conference “Tile Art in Kütahya and the Protection of Cultural Heritage,” which previously brought Kütahya’s ceramic tradition into dialogue with international scholars and institutions in Paris. Another key stop was Villette Makerz, a creative hub showcasing innovative approaches that combine design, digital production, and sustainable cultural entrepreneurship.

The Netherlands program included visits to Royal Delft, highlighting a successful model that unites ceramic production, museum experience, tourism, and retail, and to Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, a national center for architecture, design, and digital culture demonstrating how creative ecosystems can operate at city and national levels.

The study visit contributed to Kütahya’s international cultural positioning, supporting the development of KİDH as a bridge between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Municipal representatives noted that the exchange strengthened long-term cooperation opportunities and reinforced Kütahya’s growing role within international creative and cultural networks.
